COMPLETION:
A certificate of occupancy is now granted by the local authority and The Mona Lisa Hotel is now open, (see most recent pictures), buyers should now proceed to complete on their purchase. Suites will not be allocated to guests until they have closed.
BOOKINGS AND RESERVATIONS:
The web site, reservations@monalisasuitehotel.com or dosm@monalisasuitehotel.com, has rates and a booking can be made on line. The hotel is also active on www.worldhotels.com and reservations may now be made through this site.
SALES AND MARKETING
Many of their sales associates have already had a tour of the hotel and are actively promoting it. the hotel has many sales and marketing initiatives to ensure a successful 2008 season. Some activities which have been finalized and occurring are:
- Electronic Ads – Web banners on Orlando CVB web site.
- Web e-letter to travel industry trade with the OCVB.
- Premier home page placement with web banner on Official Orlando Map Site.
- Negotiations directly with Expedia and Travelocity for inclusion in their special programs.
Trade Events – The Mona Lisa Suite Hotel is a sponsor at the South Eastern Conference of Meeting Planners International (MPI). Reaching over 500 delegates that plan meetings within the South Eastern area, small meeting opportunities and corporate transient possibility at the hotel.
Memberships- The sales and marketing team have already joined various organizations that generate leads and business opportunities for developing sales and room revenue for the hotel. Some of these are Orlando Convention and Visitor Bureau OCVB, Kissimmee Visitor Bureau KCVB, Central Florida Hotel and Lodging Association CFHLA, SKAL International, Receptive Services Association of America RSAA, Tourism Women in Golf Society TWIGS, Meeting Planners International MPI and Tourism Industry of America TIA, Hotel Sales & Marketing International Association HSMAI.
These are just a sample of the advertisements being placed directly and in collaboration with our very aggressive area convention and visitor organization’s promotional efforts. Because of their phenomenal reach with vast marketing budgets, we are partnering with them when possible.
- Display Ads – AAA Tour book for 2008 with a full color add’.
- An insert in the Canadian Toronto Star in full color.
- A full color advertisement in the Orlando Film Book.
- The spring of 2008 features a colored add’ in Ultimate Hotel Guide. AAA of the South Going Places Magazine features ongoing full color add’s.
Sales Calls - The marketing team are developing package components and pricing with our spa and golf partners, Celebration Fitness Center and Celebration Golf Club. Additionally we have begun discussions with international travel agents and will contract with these large promoters of travel into the Orlando area who will will include The Mona Lisa Suite Hotel in their travel programs and brochures on an international level.
HOTEL STAFF
The Hotel’s General Manager is Jetse Pottinga and Director of Sales & Marketing is Deborah Farish
Executive Chef Leon Teow have begun their duties. Leon started his career in Malaysia and came to the USA by way of Bermuda. He has worked for the Ritz Carlton organization in Amelia Island and Naples for nearly ten years. Chef Leon has received many prestigious culinary awards, and we are very proud to have him on our team.
We are also pleased to announce our Director of Human Resources, Rosanna Echegaray has joined our executive team. She comes to us with over 15 years of hospitality human resource leadership, most recently with the Hyatt Corporation. Rosanna feels strongly about ensuring The Mona Lisa Suite Hotel is the ‘employer of choice’ in Celebration/Orlando and has great plans to obtain outstanding team members for all positions at the hotel.
